National Apprenticeship Week ‘24

Burmor are invested in the development and career opportunities for all staff, and this includes the nurturing and training of our apprentices.

Why apprenticeships?
The combination of work and study fosters a strong sense of work ethic, adaptability, problem solving skills and an excellent career foundation. Apprenticeships play a crucial role in shaping the professional journey of young people, providing them with invaluable skills both in life and work. Our apprentices play a pivotal role in the management of high-value projects alongside their mentors and integrate workplace experiences into their studies and visa versa.

Who are apprenticeships for?

They cater for a broad spectrum of individuals who seek diverse career paths and educational approaches, they are suited to anyone who prefers a hands-on learning experience over more traditional academic settings.

You do not need prior experience to become an apprentice, rather see it as a route to embark on a new and rewarding career, upskill in a current profession, or take the leap and make a career change.

Hear from one of our apprentices

“It has been a great opportunity to meet people and make new friends. We all have such a broad experience of the industry, and this helps with our learning massively. Our lecturers have experience of industry, teaching and research which brings a real all-round approach to the course.”

As an apprentice, having the ability to reciprocally integrate their learned knowledge reflects positively on them, the university and Burmor.
