Proud to be shortlisted!

We have been shortlisted in the years Social Housing Project of the Year

Our California Road development in Huntingdon has been shortlisted in the 2023 Offsite Awards. The site for client, Longhurst Group, is a development of 56 homes; a mixture of affordable rent, shared ownership and rent to buy.

The scheme uses the LoCal Homes Eco-200 panelised timber frame system, factory fitted with a cement board cladding and feature brickwork panels.

There are a multitude of benefits to using MMC for social housing projects, but in a time of immense financial struggle, the end user of these homes will benefit from a reduction of energy costs.

Looking beyond the end-user, by using these methods we are maximising the projects green credentials by lowering the carbon footprint and reducing waste. A timber frame designed house can typically be 30% quicker than a traditional build, thus reducing construction time and providing homes the community, faster.

A huge well done to all involved on this project:

Site Manager, Carl Green; Senior Quantity Surveyor, Ollie Crofts; Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, Ciara Ruane-Fountain; DT Architects; Peter Dann Consultants; Twigden Kaye Joinery; L4 Civil Engineering; LoCal Homes
