New 40-home development in Narborough, uses innovative timber frame system to create a greener living environment

A partnership between Flagship Homes, Burmor Construction and LoCaL Homes is set to deliver a greener living environment for people in Narborough, Norfolk.

By using modern methods of construction (MMC), this innovative development aims to provide 40 environmentally friendly and high standard affordable homes that meet the community’s developing needs.

Sam Harwin, Senior Quantity Surveyor from Burmor Construction, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating; "We are thrilled to be collaborating with Flagship Homes and LoCaL Homes on the development in Narborough. Together, we are harnessing the power of MMC and creating sustainable, high-quality homes that meet the evolving needs of the community."

The development in Narborough takes a fabric-first approach and prioritises the construction of high-performing, energy-efficient homes, utilising the innovative Eco-100 Timber Frame system from LoCaL Homes.

Mike Doolan, Sales & Partnerships Manager, from LoCaL Homes, said, "We’re proud to be associated with this project. The early engagement and collaboration with Burmor Construction and LoCaL Homes is a clear demonstration that MMC has many benefits and adds value for all. We look forward to seeing the completed homes being handed over to the new residents."

This advanced system ensures superior insulation, airtightness, and energy efficiency, resulting in lower energy consumption and reduced utility bills for residents. Sustainable materials and practices further contribute to creating a greener living environment for the community.

Anna Cook-Bacon, Head of Partnerships for Flagship Homes, emphasised Flagship’s commitment to providing homes and creating sustainable communities. She said, "We believe in embracing the power of modern methods of construction to help us achieve this.”

"Partnering with Burmor and LoCaL Homes, we're able to seamlessly integrate innovative techniques and technologies into our projects, providing our customers with not just affordable places to live, but places to love that will offer a better quality of life for generations to come."

The new affordable homes are expected to be completed winter 2024.
